Sunny Mann is the Global Chair of Baker McKenzie, a leading global law firm of 13,000 employees based across over 40 jurisdictions worldwide. A 'Baker Lifer' of over 25 years, Sunny is a partner based in the London office, and has previously worked in the Firm's Washington DC, New York, Sydney and Hong Kong offices. Sunny is the former global chair of the Firm’s market-leading International Trade Practice Group as well as having chaired the Firm's Geopolitical Risks Taskforce, where he oversaw support to clients responding to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The team was at the forefront of the market, having advised around one quarter of each of the Fortune 100, FTSE 100, CAC 40 and DAX 30 communities.
Sunny's personal commitment to people and to inclusion, diversity, and equity across all areas stretches back over two decades. His own personal and professional history embodies many aspects of these core values, and in his view, building an inclusive culture isn't just a moral imperative – it's a business necessity.
Some of Sunny's proudest accomplishments throughout his career have been cultural. He co-founded the Firms' very first affinity group in 2004; represents the Global Management Committee on Baker McKenzie's Global Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity Committee; was part of the team leading on the Firm's gender equity strategy; is a co-lead of BakerPride; co-drafted the Firm's global disability position statement; was instrumental in advocating for the first Race and Ethnicity conference across the EMEA region; and has championed and sponsored many individuals inside and outside of his practice and office.
Sunny is a proud champion of Baker McKenzie's culture, and he hopes that, during his tenure as Chair, he will meaningfully contribute to maintaining an environment where every single person feels that they not only belong, but also have the opportunity to thrive.
